United Nations General Assembly proclaimed the year 2002 as the International Year of Mountains, with the main objective to increase awareness of the importance of sustainable mountain development.
 
    My personal contribution is in this exhibition, which master is the Dolomitic lanscape at high altidude (yet in relation to Dolomites, whose higher peaks exceed 3200 m only a little), where the human presence is more scarce.
 
    This is an invitation to enter in this word knowing that the future of these environments depends also from our behaviour, in addition to a correct management of this heritage. I hope that these images would not become, in a few time, the witnesses of a past not recoverable any more.

 
    A short note: in some images can be seen some piles of stones: they are signals, built chiefly in the most difficult places. In the Italian alpinistic slang they are called "ometti" (little men).
