On the Thread of a Dream

How many times, rummaging in your photo archive looking up a well defined image, did you experience a huge difference between what you were looking for and what you really found?
The purpose of this exhibition is to confuse reality, memory and fancy, equivocating between true photographies and graphic manipulations: the former aiming to give apparently unreal colours and atmospheres, the latter to reveal the personal perception of the reality.
To attain my aim, I used some photos made in particular conditions, mainly during the very first phases of sunrise, or in occasion of thunderstorms, and so on.
I manipulated other images my means of some typical darkroom techniques, or by means of a computer, in order to semplify the subjects and to return them more similar to my original imagining.

The exhibition has been hold from 6th to 26th August 2000 at the Town Hall of San Vito di Cadore, Belluno, and has been replied from 10th to 24th October at the Recreative Club of ENEL in Milan.
A selection of about 20 images from the second part have been exhibited on January 2001 at Villa Litta in Milan. Informations are available in the "From the Computer to the Salted Paper" page.
