G.S.E.I. is organizing the second edition of the Championship for Italian chess programs, that will be hold most likely in Pontedera in a May 2002 week-end to be decided.
The tournament will probably be a 6-7 swiss with a time control of 60 minutes + 10 sec. each. To be confirmed.

2nd Italian Engine Contest

One year away from the first edition, G.S.E.I. organizes the second edition of the Italian Championship on FICS, with eight engines in the starting list:

Leila (outgoing champion), Esc, Golem e LarsenVB are at the second partecipation. The tournament is played entirely on line on FICS, since December 2001 to March 2002 with the known rules: double round robin, time control of 30 minutes each and one round per week.

G.S.E.I. organized the first Championship for Italian chess programs, that has been hold in PISA on May 19-20th 2001 hosted by the structures of Unione Sportiva "Porta Nuova".
The tournament has been a 5 rounds swiss with a time control of 80 minutes + 10 sec. each.

Blitz tournaments for "home made" engines

Blitz tournaments on FICS organized by the energetic Francesco S. Rinaldi (aka "frengo"), with weekly period and open to all amateur and original engines. Obviously well attended by G6 engines.

1st Italian Engine Contest (Torneo 80° anniversario FSI, tra i programmi italiani)

This tournament has been organized for the 80th FSI anniversal, and there have been six G6 engines participating (in parenthesis the FICS handle):

The "Torneo Storico"

The first tornament with Italian Winboard engines, and so called Historical, has been played by the engines of some of the programmers who have later given the birth to the G6 (during the tournamente the "old" Drago has become the well known Raffaela):
