The 49ers on Monday named Larry Mac Duff special teams coordinator and Eric Yarber wide receivers coach.

Mac Duff joins Dennis Erickson's staff from the University of Arizona, where he was the defensive coordinator from 1987 to 1996 and from 2001 to 2002. He spent the interim as the New York Giants' special teams coordinator.

Yarber was Erickson's receivers coach at Oregon State for the past four seasons. He played for Erickson at the University of Idaho in 1984 and 1985, and was a member of the Washington Redskins' 1988 Super Bowl championship team. He served as the offensive quality control coach for the Seattle Seahawks under Erickson in 1998.

Sac State opens the home portion of its schedule this week with doubleheaders against Nevada (Wednesday at 1 p.m.) and San Jose State (Saturday at noon).
